Observing the Menace is a side quest in Emerald Graves in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. It initiates upon arrival in Emerald Graves. A journal is found south of Gracevine Camp.
Troillus Herbtubise is researching Fade rifts for What he calls his "Great Mission." He appears to have camped at a safe distance from each rift for a time, observing it's behavior.
